Here archaeologists have discovered the earliest recorded history, this way for centuries, researchers and tourists flock to temples, mosques and magnificent Pharaonic tombs: It is the oldest travel destination in the world. he capital of Egypt, with over 7 million inhabitants, Cairo (Arabic: al-Qahira for “The Victorious”). This makes it the largest city in the Arab world and will house the Greater Cairo more than 15 million people. Cairo is a separate province in Egypt, Abdel Azim Mussa Wazir whose governor of Egyptian President Muhammad Husni Mubarak was appointed.
Since there are in Cairo, the seat of government, and all central authorities, several universities, theaters, etc. is because the Cairo Egyptian center for business, politics and culture. At the same time, the city is still the most important transport hub in Egypt, as all major streets of Egypt, including the main waterway, the Nile in Cairo converge.
Cairo has no historical predecessors from the time of the pharaohs. The city was founded only in the first century AD by a fortress for the first time and gained importance as it was 973 AD, the capital of the Fatimid Empire. The Suez Canal (in German actually Suez Canal) is a 163-kilometer-long channel of the Red Sea with the Mediterranean and thus represents a major shortcut by sea between Europe and Asia, as the ships would otherwise have to drive around Africa. The Suez Canal begins in the Mediterranean near the port city of Port Said and ends in the Red Sea near the town of Suez, which gave the channel its name. In one city, to around 500,000 inhabitants, which come mainly through the channel here. At the same time, the channel is a dividing line between the actual land of Egypt and the Sinai Peninsula, and therefore the boundary between Africa and Asia.
History

Safaga is the oldest port on the Red Sea and was founded around 2450 BC by Pharaoh Sahure. The port was used to trade with other nations and the exploration of the Red Sea. Even today, some 60 kilometer south of Hurghada Safaga port is still used by the Egyptians. Here is a stronghold of the Egyptian army and a hub for various commodities.
For tourists Safaga has no special interest, in addition to some coral reefs and the sunken ship off the coast of Salem Express. Nevertheless, there is a peninsula of Soma Bay near Safaga, which is developed for tourism and on which there are several luxury hotels. Which are located in and around Safaga black sand beaches of the Red Sea slightly radioactive (in harmless concentrations) and were already used by the pharaohs for cures.
South of Safaga is the checkpoint of the Egyptian police for driving in a convoy to the Nile Valley. This checkpoint must use not only vacationers from Safaga, but also tourists from more distant places, such as Hurghada, must pass through the checkpoint to travel to Luxor.
Soma Bay

There are in Safaga and Soma Bay vicinity no interest is primarily dependent on water sports and beach vacationers. The main occupations of the holiday in Soma Bay, therefore, include sunbathing, scuba diving, windsurfing and kite surfing.

Hurghada is a town in Egypt on the west bank of the Red Sea and located about 460 km north of Cairo, the capital of Egypt, away. Hurghada was not until the 20th Century founded and since the eighties developed by investors from America, Europe and Arabia, the largest seaside resort on the Red Sea.
In 2004, a total of one million tourists came to Hurghada, especially German and Russian. But other nationalities are, though not as hard to find in Hurghada. The hotels for the tourists take over a strip length of 30 kilometers along the Red Sea. In addition to this strip of hotels in Hurghada, there are two city centers. The north ad-Dahar, also called Down Town, is the original city center of Hurghada and was originally intended for the management of oil fields. A few miles south is the tourist center of El Sekalla that comes up with a mixture of modern shops, bars, nightclubs and the original bazaars.
Downtown Hurghada
The former center of Hurghada, ad-Dahar, now often referred to as Downtown is only about 6 miles north of the tourist area El Sekalla. As the largest tourist attraction, the Coptic St. Schinuda father of the hermit is to be seen, one built in 1922 in downtown Hurghada Mosque. In El Gouna it is a hotel complex on the Red Sea. This is located 20 kilometers north of Hurghada, the largest resort on the Red Sea and is about as large as the center of London. El Gouna was built a few years ago all by himself from an Egyptian investor named Samih Sawiris. This is one of the Egyptian telecommunications company Orascom, which has its headquarters in Cairo and from there offer many countries in Africa, Arabia and modern telecommunications networks.
The complex offers El Gouna has 14 hotels of different categories and sizes. Also holiday homes can be more recently in El Gouna rent or buy. In the hotel there are three hotels with 3 stars, eight hotels and three 4-star hotel with 5 stars. The hotels have 28-554 rooms and are designed so that for a variety of needs.
