The Mountain Scenery Around Innsbruck, Austria

The landscape around the Olympic city of Innsbruck is very impressive and almost everywhere you can see distant, snow-capped mountains and a classic alpine scenery. However, when you’re strolling through the medieval Old Town (Altstadt) in Innsbruck, the mountains begin to disappear from sight and his eyes are attracted by the architecture and displays, in particular through the streets as the Herzog Friedrich Strasse, home City extravagant Golden Roof (Goldenes Dachl).
Innsbruck has twice hosted the prestigious Winter Olympics in 1964 and again in 1976. The mountain range also includes the surrounding Alps and the mountains Tuxer, and in the winter months, it becomes nothing less than a skiing Mecca. In fact, you can even ski in summer on the Stubai Glacier, which is within walking distance of southern central Innsbruck.
Many visitors choose to buy the Innsbruck card upon arrival, which provides entry to museums, free use of buses, and is available at the Tourist Information Office on Burggraben.
